What is a 5 Wits Adventure?

A 5 Wits adventure will fully immerse you in a vibrant, physical world that’s unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before! You'll have to solve puzzles, explore new spaces and discover the details of your unique story.

What 5 Wits Adventures are currently available and where?

5 Wits is thrilled to present two exciting adventures — Espionage and 20,000 Leagues — showing at Patriot Place in Foxboro, MA! In Espionage, you’ll be trained as spies, infiltrating and taking down an evil corporation determined to stop you at every turn. In 20,000 Leagues you’ll get caught up in the riddle of Captain Nemo's lost ship when your "tour group" accidentally discovers the Nautilus. A trained cast member accompanies each expedition, but make no mistake, you are the star of the show!

What do you mean by "immerse you?" How physical is it? What should I wear?

Each adventure is in a self-contained, physical space that requires your hands-on interaction to progress. Every show has multiple rooms, with several unique puzzles to discover as you travel through them. However, you'll never be forced to do anything beyond your physical ability, whatever that may be. While our shows require your physical interaction, at no time will you be diving out of the way of boulders, climbing cargo nets or swimming through tunnels! Your group will always have a guide present, and while they are paid to stay out of your way, they can step in to lend a hand at any time. Our only dress recommendations are closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing.

How long are the shows? How often do they start? How many people in a group?

Our adventures are just under an hour long, depending on your group’s performance, and new shows usually begin 15 to 30 minutes throughout the day, based on demand. As one group moves deeper into their exploration, a new group can enter. In this way we can accommodate very large groups with rolling starts, and can take up to 15 people on each expedition.

Where are you located? How do I get there?

Both Espionage and 20,000 Leagues are located at Patriot Place, right across from Gillette Stadium. Using Google maps for Patriot Place can provide you with excellent, up-to-date driving directions.

Are your adventures scary? What ages are they appropriate for?

While each of our family friendly adventures is designed to be intense, they are intended to thrill and challenge, not to frighten you. There are some moments of temporary darkness and some loud sound effects in each experience, so we suggest that parents of young children, generally below the age of 7, should use their discretion.

While a 5 Wits’ experience is appropriate for all ages, an expedition full of adults is very different than an expedition full of children. The challenges are difficult and exciting for adults, and the guide that attends every show can aid children in their exploration of our spaces and puzzles. We work hard to make sure everyone has an exceptional experience and our staff is always happy to make recommendations on the best days and times that would suit your friends or family.

What does 5 Wits mean?

It means the most immersive, exciting entertainment of your life, but that's probably not what you meant, right? The name actually comes from Shakespearean times. The five wits were said to be Imagination, Estimation, Fantasy, Common Sense, and Memory … all aspects that make an appearance in our adventures. Folks also associated the name with the five senses, which is appropriate, because you’ll use those here too!

How do I buy tickets?

There are three ways to purchase tickets. You can order online right now, call us at (508) 698-1600 or purchase tickets at the door.

Is this general admission, or do we need reservations?

We always recommend purchasing tickets in advance when possible, particularly if you are planning your visit for a weekend or school vacation period. Our shows keep to a strict schedule and we ask that you do as well. All of our tickets are sold for exact times. To make sure you don't miss your show, please plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start. On very busy days rescheduling a missed show time can be difficult, sometimes requiring long waits before an opening is available. If you aren't sure when you can attend, but want to get tickets now for a gift, or prior to a vacation, we do have gift cards available that can be redeemed at our box office at your earliest convenience, or on the day of your visit.

What is the best time to visit?

Anytime! 5 Wits shows run seven days a week, with many showtimes every day. However, depending on the makeup of your group and what you are looking for, some times might work better than others. Weekends and school vacation periods tend to be very busy, with lots of families and kids looking for an adventure! If that's not your style, we'd recommend coming in on a weekday, when the atmosphere tends to be a little quieter.

What if I need to cancel, reschedule or miss my show time? Do you offer refunds?

Unfortunately, if you cancel within 48 hours of your show, or simply miss your start time, that's a ticket that another guest may have purchased, so our policy is no refunds. However, we will work hard to reschedule, or, if that is not possible for the same day, offer you complimentary passes to return at your convenience. If you need to cancel a ticket 48 hours or more prior to your start time, we will issue you a full refund. For group cancellation policies please continue to the group specific section of the FAQ. How do combo tickets work?

A combo ticket allows you to enjoy both our Espionage and 20,000 Leagues adventures for one low price. Make sure to plan your day accordingly as each expedition takes about an hour and there is typically a short wait between adventures. You can do them in either order and at a range of times, or even across two days. To purchase combo tickets, please call us at 508-698-1600.

Can I bring a very large group? What if I want a private show or birthday party?

We can accommodate groups up to 300 people, and we even offer full facility events. We will also book private shows for as few as 10 people. Is 5 Wits right for my group?

5 Wits’ shows have genuine appeal to a wide range of people and groups. But, don't take our word for it, come see for yourself! If you are interested in booking a group, we would be happy to show you around our facility and around the adventures themselves to help you decide. We work hard to provide support material and lunch options to school groups, food and drink options to adult groups, and team building workshop options to corporate groups. You can even rent the entire facility so you have the entire facility to yourselves! Do you offer group discounts? How many people quality for discounts?

Our group discounts vary both by the number of people in your group, and your type of organization. Specifically, we try to offer schools and charitable non-profits the lowest rates we can. Every group of 20 people or more, regardless of affiliation, qualifies for discounted tickets. Can you really fit our entire group in one expedition?

Though our shows are about an hour long, we can actually begin a new show every 15 minutes, that way even large groups can enjoy the experience efficiently. In the downtime between shows you can participate in workshops, enjoy catering and local food options, or even schedule a behind-the-scenes discussion with one of our staff.

How can you make my birthday an adventure?

We offer various options, from a simple private show, to a full blown-party with pizza and cake. You let us know how to make this the perfect birthday and we'll make it happen!
